IT or it? That’s the question!

My name is Erwin Rijss, Technology Consultant at Macaw. Lately I started to discover Sitecore. I have a long background in Content Management Systems, because most of my career I worked for Smartsite. This CMS is and has been used in the Netherlands for a wide spectrum of different online solutions and platforms. I was part of the team that created the software. As a technical trainer, technical consultant and evangelist I created a strong view about what a CMS should be like, for both developers, end-users and the visitors of the online platforms.

With all these experience, I started to work for online companies like Mirabeau and Macaw. There I started to work with other content management systems like Hippo, GX Software, EpiServer and Sitecore. The latter is the CMS that has my main attention at the moment.

I’ll use this blog to share my thoughts CMS and Sitecore especially. And maybe more categories will come up as well. Some of these are ideas, some are experiences and best practices we have at Macaw, my current employer. Some are mine, and some are the accumulation of the team I work with.
